Gerald Celente sez: Think For Yourself… Or Else!

It was only a matter of time before Gerald Celente appeared here at 99 Percent Space. Celente is the kind of guy I aspire to be, if I had been raised in the Bronx, spoke like a wise guy and had any ability in forecasting trends. His motto is Think For Yourself, he’s a black belt in close combat and he has a sharp wise guy sense of humor (note: the term “wise guy” is used here to mean “a human of the male gender being in possession of wisdom”).

Trend master extraordinaire Gerald Celente

Celente is the Founder/Director of the The Trends Research Institute and publisher of The Trends Journal. His track record is pretty impressive, peek the Trends Research site for the skinny, but here’s a small excerpt just in case your finger is too lazy to click on the link. That’s cool; my finger can relate.

On the geopolitical and economic fronts, Celente and The Trends Research Institute are credited with forecasting many major trends, including the “Panic of ’08,” the collapse of the Soviet Union, the last two recessions, the dot-com meltdown, the 1997 Asian currency crisis, the 1987 world stock market crash, increased terrorism against America, “Crusades 2000,” and the quagmire in Iraq … before war began.

Celente’s latest keyword is “neo-survivalism”, of which he says:

Neo-Survivalism
In 2010, survivalism will go mainstream.  Unemployed or fearing it, foreclosed or nearing it, pensions lost and savings gone, all sorts of folk who once believed in the system have lost their faith.
Motivated not by worst-case scenario fears but by do-or-die necessity, the new non-believers, unwilling to go under or live on the streets, will devise ingenious stratagems to beat the system, get off the grid (as much as possible), and stay under the radar…..

Now I must insist your lazy finger click on the Trends page at Celente’s site so you can read the many other trend samples he has for 2010. Some are pretty obvious, others are much less; some are hopeful, others are much less. Most importantly, all are perfectly plausible given the coming shitstorm… not the current shitsquall, mind you, but the big fucker that’s moving in behind.

Being able to forecast trends with ANY degree of accuracy in today’s mad mad world is no mean feat, and Celente has nailed more than all the corporate boards in the world combined. He has also brought other talented forecasters into his team to cover a wide array of categories… not that anyone overshadows Celente at the Trends Institute website, unless they want to get close-combatted, shoved in the trunk of a car and taken to sleep with the fishes and sent packing.

The full Journal costs US$ 99 a year (4 issues) and after watching Celente in several TV appearances such as the one below, I’m beginning to think about raiding the piggy bank and signing up. Hell, it’s CHEAP considering I’d be willing to pay double NOT to know all the stuff he’s forecasting. But ignorance is only bliss until reality starts getting medieval on your ignorant ass; that’s when you wish your skill set comprised something more than operating remote controls and chugging beer.

The following video is Celente on Fox’s Freedom Watch hosted by Judge Andrew Napolitano. Now Fox isn’t exactly one of my primary news resources, but Judge Napolitano defends my natural rights and I like him for that (someday we’ll talk about natural rights here; it is some mind boggling stuff. UPDATE: posted here). Plus, he’s of Italian heritage just like Celente, so there’s good chemistry. Furtherplus, in this clip Celente explains how his neo-survival skills helped him survive the great February 2010 earthquake in Chile. In these times of psychopaths, sychophants, snake oil salesmen and sheeple, Gerald Celente is a gulp of fresh air and one of the few surviving custodians of my tattered faith in Humankind.
Grazie mile, Geraldo. You can shove me in the trunk of your car have your people call mine anytime.
